Event Description

2024 THEME: ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & FAITH

Living The Questions is a place for high school students, who have completed grades 8-12, to feel like they belong to a community and grow into who God has created them to be! Join us this summer for an exciting journey where environmental science meets faith! Dive into discussions about how our faith intersects with pressing environmental issues. Explore questions like: What does it mean to care for the planet as a person of faith? How can we find inspiration and guidance in the Bible regarding caring for creation? Discover practical ways to make an impact and serve your community through creation care.

This six-day summer program begins with check-in between 3-3:30 pm on Sunday, June 16, and ends at Noon on Friday, June 21.

At Living The Questions, students will:

  • Learn about the impact of invasive species and the importance of watersheds to water quality
  • Discuss stories that involve water in the Bible and reflect on how God uses water
  • Tour Capitol Region Watershed District and specific water improvement projects at
    • Como Lake
    • Highland Bridge
    • Mississippi River
  • Participate in a service project at Willow Reserve, a 23-acre urban oasis in Saint Paul
  • Connect with Science Faculty
  • Hang out with current Bethel student mentors

Overnight accommodations will be provided in secure dorms. Each bedroom has 2 twin XL beds, 2 desks and chairs, and a closet. Roommate requests can be emailed to living-the-questions@bethel.edu. Students will be supervised by the Director of the program and a team of Bethel students hired from a pool of student leaders. Meals will be provided through the Monson Dining Center.
