| 1 | The first objective for this project think about how the printed context effects the images set there. An image in a gallery carries a particular meaning. An image on a portfolio website carries another. An image on a t-shirt sends a different message. An image in a book. . ., etc. | |
| • | The second objective is to consider your message—can you make a difference, can you instigate change, can you make people aware of an issue or problem or injustice? | |
| • | The third objective is to sequence images. Put two or three or four or five images together to create a continuous narrative. Let ambiguity carry the spectator from one image to another through the sequence so that the content emerges from the whole together rather from one image in the group. (or something like that) | |
| 2 | Part Two: make a documentary portrait of an artist at work, also using a sequence of two or three or four or five or six photos. Pick a senior art major and portray them in preparation for their senior exhibition. Stage it if you must but try to encourage them to work on something leading to their senior show. This may function as a portfolio/resume piece for both you and the senior you work with. | |
| 3 | Build your portfolilo page. Look at www.3st.com. Try to get your portfolio in order. Make your images come up in a size that is appropriate for the screen. Design you site. Add your new images. Tell your story.

| • | Always keep high resolution (at least 300 dpi) files available for printing. Always work in photoshop documents that are at least 300 dpi and big enough so that they will print without pixilating. | |
| • | Be sure to adjust color balance and contrast to get the most out of your digital files. | |
| [ | Photo transfer material will be provided in class. You will have to provide your own T-shirt or other medium. | |
| + | Have something to show by Monday, Nov. 3. Laser prints are okay for this critique. | |
| • | Complete project by Monday, November 10. | |
