Virtual Class Session
- Instructor's component: (Now Live)
- Student/Interactive Component
- Your assignment for this week is to “create the discussion” by summarizing how cybertechnology has transformed and how we should be transforming the technology in the area of cybertechnology, which might include (among others):
- Work - cyberwork
- Worship -cyberChristianity
- Learning - cyberlearning (distance education)
- Play - cyberleisure
- Community - cybercommunity
- Relationships - cyberdating etc.
- Other
- Cybershopping
- Cybertravel
- Cyberart
- Etc.
- Develop a one (or more) page overview/review of the important concepts and issues of one area or example of cybertechnology. Look for articles, pictures, links, websites, graphs, data, ideas. Work either by yourself or in pairs and post your work to the cyberrevolution forum in any form, but if you would like, you could do a powerpoint slide(s) or word page(s) or... of your information as an appendix to my “introduction” lecture (see link above).
- You can work in pairs or by yourself as there are enough topics to go around (and some I may have missed) and you can select your topic and/or your partner by visiting the cyberrevolution forum in Blackboard. Each pair or individual needs to select a different subtopic so that we can get a bigger picture of the trends, effects, revenges, and benefits of cybertechnology in the area you have chosen. Once you have selected an area to review for the class, please place a thread in the Cybertechology Forum in Blackboard with the title of your cybertopic. There may be other areas that I have missed that you might want to address and if so, add it to our list.
- Then prior to Wednesday November 30 present your findings to the eclass in your thread in the cybertechnology forum. Do not spend more than 1 hour on this project and this will allow another hour later on for you to look through the contributions of the rest of the class members as they are posted. You should use the remaining two hours to continue working on your Course Project and Presentation for Week 5.
- Links for some areas as starters can be found on the course links page.
- Complete your contribution to the class PRIOR TO Wednesday Nov 30.
- Then everyone should review the contributions of your classmates prior to our 5th class meeting on Dec. 7 to be ready to move on to the next topic - the technological revolution and to also conclude with your own project presentations during our last class.
If you have difficulty with anything, please email or phone!
