There are primary colors - red, blue, and yellow, that cannot be made by any other colors.

Secondary Colors - green, orange, and violet - can me made by mixing primary colors.

Tertiary colors are intermediates between colors on the color wheel, such as blue-green and yellow-green to green.

Analogous colors are different variations of a particular hue that lie next to it, such as yellow and goldenrod.
