On November 2, 3, and 4, the Bethel Antiracism and Reconciliation Commission (BARRC) hosted a two-and-a-half day training for faculty and staff at the new CAPS/GS Red Fox location in Arden Hills. The theme of the training session was Breaking Down the Dividing Wall: Reconciliation Community and Antiracism. Attendees modeled biblical reconciliation by exploring ideas for building community with others, responding to institutionalized racism, and contributing to authentic change. A group of 25 faculty, staff, and students from across Bethel University visited South Africa from July 12-27 to learn lessons in reconciliation. A national television program in South Africa, called “Spirit Sundae,” featured Bethel’s visit. Click to view the televised report.
