Bethel Antiracism and Reconciliation

Bethel community commissions Anti-racism and Reconciliation commission

Racial Reconciliation

At the annual carols and chocolate chapel on Friday, Dec. 7, 2001 the Bethel community commissioned members of the Anti-Racism and Reconciliation Commission in a very special time of prayer and commitment. The commission is comprised of representatives from all of the Bethel campuses as well as commission members from San Diego and Seminary of the East.
The following mission was laid out for the Anti-Racism and Reconciliation Commission.

"The Bethel Anti-Racism and Reconciliation Commission was formed at the direction of President George K. Brushaber and the Bethel Board of Trustees as part of a deliberate effort to follow the Lord's command that we truly love our neighbors as ourselves (Luke 10:27), affirm our oneness in Christ (Galatians 3:28), and demonstrate a love which is the distinguishing mark of a follower of Christ (John 13:35). Its purpose is to provide leadership for efforts to make Bethel College & Seminary a community where all people and all races are respected, valued, and made welcome, where all expressions of racism are eliminated, and where genuine biblical reconciliation is practiced."
