Biography

Amy Fox has lived and taught in Minneapolis, MN for over ten years.  Attending an Environmental High School and majoring in Biology, Amy developed a passion for hands-on and relevent Science and Environmental education in schools. Beginning her career at an Alternative High School in Minneapolis inspired Amy's masters thesis on trauma and learning.  Through her teaching experience and research, Amy has become increasingly aware of the need for trauma informed instruction and practices within schools.  Throughout Amy's career she has worked as a High School Science teacher, taught science in an Adult Education Diploma program, and worked as a Learning Specialist.  With a background in Science education and her work as a learning specialist Amy helped develop a supplimental writing curriculum for high school students.  Amy loves working with high school students and has really enjoyed encouraging and equiping student teachers through Bethel's MAT program.  Along with teaching Amy loves camping and hiking with her husband and three kids, playing and coaching hockey, gardening, and painting.
