Biography

Marshall Urban, bass-baritone, has degrees in Vocal Performance, Composition, and Music Theory from Boston University and Penn State University, and is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Minnesota. He has appeared as soloist in opera and concert with Theatre de la Jeune Lune, the Minnesota Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Metropolitan Symphony (Minneapolis), the Opera Laboratory Theater Company, (Boston), the Pennsylvania Centre Chamber Orchestra, the Penn's Woods Festival, the Nittany Valley Symphony (PA), the Bach Society of Minnesota, Newburyport Choral Society (MA), Dedham Choral Society (MA), Arlington Chorale (MA), State College Choral Society (PA), Susquahana Valley Chorale (PA), Juniata Choral Union (PA), Pennsylvania Chamber Chorale, Encore Wind Ensemble (Minneapolis), The Warebrook Festival of Contemporary Music (VT), The Society of Composers, Inc. (PA), and Pennsylvania State University Institute for the Arts and Humanistic Studies.

Urban is a member of the voice faculty at Bethel University and has served on the faculties of Penn State University, Bucknell University, The Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and the Perkins School for the Blind.
