Seminary offers aid to Hurricane Victims

While Bethel Seminary is sending out students to minister worldwide, it is also involved in relief efforts closer to home. The Seminary is offering help to victims of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation in several unique ways:

  • A special fund will help with financial needs of Katrina victims who are enrolled at Bethel and at New Orleans Baptist Seminary.
  • Seminary students affected by the hurricane may enroll in any of Bethel’s InMinistry (distance learn- ing) degree programs, with Bethel returning tuition for the course work to the school where students were originally enrolled.
  • Free housing in six Bethel University apartments is available on a first-come, first-Picture of smiling childrenserved basis for couples or families who are enrolled at New Orleans Baptist Seminary and want to move to St. Paul. Seminary tuition is also provided for those students.

Donations to Bethel Seminary’s hurricane aid should be labeled “Dean’s Discretionary Fund, Bethel Seminary.” Inquiries about donations or any of Bethel Seminary’s hurricane aid initiatives may be addressed to Kim Olstad in the seminary provost’s office at 651.638.6168 or k-olstad@bethel.edu.
