In addition to the numerous events taking place on Bethel campus in St. Paul, some of our most recent events for local alumni include:
- March 2009: Alumni and students combined forces to serve together at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, a retail store which sells excess building materials. All profits from the ReStore go towards building homes for families in need in the Twin Cities.
- November 2008: Nearly 60 alumni, parents and students served together at Feed My Starving Children in Brooklyn Park, helping to assemble food packets for children in developing countries.
- August 2008: More than 150 alumni and friends of Bethel gathered to hear Dr. Thomas Becknell discuss the historical and literary background of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House on the Prairie books, followed by a matinee performance of the world-premiere Little House on the Prairie musical at the Guthrie Theater.
- March 2008: Habitat for Humanity service project. Bethel alumni and students banded together to make a difference at two Habitat work sites in St. Paul and Woodbury.
- June 2006: Como Park Picnic. More than 72 alumni, parents, and friends enjoyed a family gathering with a picnic at Como Park. The Twin Cities Alumni Board members and Director of Programming Kevin Johnson answered questions about Bethel and handed out gifts.
- July 2006: Bethel University pre-game picnic and Minnesota Twins game.
We had a sold out gathering for a pre-game picnic at the Metrodome with guest speaker Bethel alumnus and Major League umpire Jeff Nelson. Nelson gave insight into the game of baseball and shared about being a Christian in this unique profession. Following the picnic, Bethel attendees gathered in a reserved section in the stands to cheer on the victorious Minnesota Twins.
- In June of 2005, close to 100 folks gathered at the St. Paul Saints stadium in the Midway area for a barbeque picnic. Afterwards, attendees enjoyed a double-header Saints game that featured hilarious between-inning antics!
- On July 16, 2005, Valleyfair was the place to be! It was a gorgeous summer day, made even better by a picnic in the park pavilion and laughter as people went on rides and cooled off in the waterpark. Nearly 100 Bethel alumni, friends, and family joined in the excitement!
