Ralph Gustafson

Ralph Gustafson

Vice President for Constituent Relations

Ralph Gustafson’s family probably has more Bethel degrees than any other Bethel staff member:

  • Ralph (C’74, S’78) holds degrees from both the undergraduate college and the seminary.
  • His wife, Lyn (Ford) Gustafson (C’74), also graduated from Bethel.
  • Their children Jared, Krissa, and Nathan are Bethel grads.
  • Jared and Nathan also have seminary degrees.
  • And Ralph and Lyn’s 5 grandchildren just might be Royals someday, as well!

After spending years serving the church and associated organizations, Ralph returned to Bethel as director of church ministries for 12 years. Now he oversees Bethel’s constituent relations, engaging alumni, parents, and churches in the mission of Bethel.

Why Ralph Loves His Job

His experience as a pastor, teaching, speaking, and directing ministries, is a perfect fit for his role. He says, “I love being with people and thrive on interactive experiences.”

Ralph also appreciates the chance to pray with, and for, others.

“I am blessed and moved by our various opportunities for prayer,” he says, citing the National Prayer Initiative and prayer gatherings with alums, parents, and staff.

Favorite Bethel Experience

Festival of Christmas and other events on campus and throughout the country are highlights. “These are special and amazing times for me,” says Ralph. He also has fond memories as a student playing, and later, coaching football.

In His Free Time

When he’s not serving Bethel, he enjoys family time—especially with his grandkids—biking, traveling, camping, attending football games, teaching, and watching just about any sport on TV. He also umpires youth baseball, preaches, and works with the Converge Worldwide youth ministries.
