Dan Dye ’81 is the Bethel University College of Arts & Sciences
2006 Alumnus of the Year. After graduating from Bethel with a bachelor’s
degree in business administration and economics, Dan joined Cargill,
Inc., working in various merchandising and managerial positions
in the U.S. and Canada over the next 25 years. Since 2000, he has
been president of Cargill AgHorizons, U.S., where he is responsible
for the company’s grain handling and retail crop input business
in the interior U.S. He is a member of the Chicago Board of Trade
and serves on the board of directors of the Agriculture Future of America.
Dan credits his classes at Bethel for having an impact on his professional
and personal commitment to integrity and ethics. “The values
and biblical principles we stand on as followers of Christ are outstanding
business principles, something that the business world is starting
to see,” he says. This fall, Dan will come full circle to serve
as an adjunct business professor in the MBA program at Bethel. He
and his family live in Eden Prairie (Minn.), and attend Westwood
Community Church in Chanhassen where Dan has served as chairman of
the Leadership Board for 10 years.
