Below is a list of frequently-asked questions related to the Bethel University print directory project with Harris Connect.
Why has Bethel engaged with Harris Connect on this project?
There are a variety of reasons why we've engaged with Harris Connect to help us produce a new alumni directory. Having your current contact information is crucial
to being wise stewards of Bethel’s resources, and many of you also
appreciate having correct contact information for fellow alumni. (Our
last directory is eight years old.) But the task of updating our
database is too large and time-intensive for the small staff in our
office. Bethel contracted with Harris Connect because they are the
nation’s leading expert in producing alumni directories, and they were
highly recommended in our thorough reference checks.
I already updated my information online. Why does Harris keep sending me postcards and/or calling me?
They want to verify your information and offer you the opportunity to purchase the book. If you are not interested in purchasing the book, please let them know that up front when you call.
How much does the directory cost?
There is no charge to be listed in the directory. If you choose to purchase it, there are three options available: a hardbound volume priced at $89.99, a softbound edition priced at $69.99, or a reunion CD priced at $19.99. Shipping and handling is not included in the price.
I might be interested in purchasing the directory, but I need to check with my spouse or think about it. Can I order at a later date?
Yes, but keep in mind that Harris Connect will only print as many directories as ordered. If you decide to order the directory, please contact Harris Connect within one week of your initial phone call with them.
If my name is listed in the directory, am I obligated to purchase a copy?
No. Your name will be listed regardless of whether you decide to purchase a copy.
What if I don't want to be listed in the directory?
Harris Connect will honor your request to exclude some or all of your biographical data from the publication.
What if I decide to cancel my order after I have already placed it?
Orders can be canceled directly with Harris Connect by calling 1-800-877-6554.
