Dear Class of 1984,
Has it been more than a month since our reunion? With the busyness of the season and the approaching holidays, it certainly doesn’t seem so. I wanted to take a few minutes to thank those who attended Homecoming 2004 and celebrated Bethel’s new university status. This has been a monumental year for our alma mater. They have done an outstanding job with the institution since our departure 20 years ago!
The reunion committee had a great time planning everything for our gathering after the banquet. Our goal was to have an informal time in which we could relax and touch base with our classmates, some of whom we had not seen in many years. We trust that you enjoyed the event. Thanks to those who contributed pictures and helped collect door prizes. It was fun to see the changes (or lack thereof) and catch up on your lives. As our families grow and we see changes taking place around us, it is good to know that we have a group of close friends with whom we can share these experiences. We trust that this weekend of reconnecting was time well spent.
Being connected to a greater whole has always been important. We are primarily related through our love of Jesus Christ. Secondly, we are joined through our families. Finally, the experiences—and occasional trials—we encountered at Bethel have made our class unique, giving us a connectedness that makes these class reunions feel like getting together with family. We hope that this year’s reunion was truly a time of reconnecting with your classmates.
