Reunion Wrap-up Letter
Dear Classmates of ’66,
Well, our 40th reunion has come and gone. We enjoyed a wonderful evening, gathering for punch and quick greetings, dinner, and then a fun time of sharing memories and highlights.
We had a pop “quizzie” (remember Russ Johnson?) in which teams answered questions about what the world was like in 1966. In a moment of true confessions, Linda McKelvy revealed that she was the one who actually made the statement to Russ Johnson leading to the story of the “quizzie” and “testie” that’s still being told today! (Ask one of us on the committee if you don’t know the whole story.)
Of course, fun Bethel memories were shared as well: singing for President Kennedy, the coffee shop, professors, Nik Dag, and other “old campus” stories. The evening concluded with many attendees sharing how God has been faithful throughout our many stops while sailing along in life. We heard about unexpected job changes, challenging health issues, life-changing experiences, and blessings. It was wonderful to hear stories of how the Lord has been working in people’s lives. Gene Glader and Jim Johnson joined us and chatted about the old campus memories. It was fun to see them again.
Many of us would like to get together before the next reunion. Please email us if you would like to do that, and we’ll take the idea further (perhaps summertime?). If you are going to be in town sometime and would like a get-together lunch, we can “quick call” or email the in-town alumni and set that up, too. Just let one of the committee members know.
We had a great time together, but we missed some of YOU! Plan to make the next reunion a priority!
