Re: Homecoming Review
We can’t believe that Homecoming 2006 has already come and gone. It was great to see all who were present, but we missed classmates who couldn’t attend. We wanted to provide a quick overview of the weekend for those who didn’t make it.
Festivities:
- Departmental breakfasts and tours of the library and radio/TV stations
- Classes without quizzes and a few familiar faces from other class years
- A gorgeous fall day for the Homecoming football game. Bethel beat St. Thomas 17-7.
- Our reunion meal was held in the Dining Center—not with other classes in the gym
People:
- It was awesome to reconnect with classmates.
- Snapshots: One classmate now has four children, and another came all the way from Iraq to attend.
2001 Reunion Program:
- 108 people attended
- A pizza dinner with ice cream sundaes for dessert
- A program with an inspirational speech by Christine Osgood
- Lots of time to mingle and catch up with everyone
To Do List:
- Update personal information/addresses at alumni@bethel.edu so more classmates will attend the next reunion
- Check out pictures of the festivities.
- Continue to pray for Bethel University staff and students
During the program, Christine added a call to action for young believers to reach the next generation in a new way: “What if we actually banded together and LIVED the way of life of Jesus? Might our absolute truth be heard via the authenticity of our actions and way of life? I urge you...reach this generation, not only with words, but with the authentic life of Jesus.”
