Class of 1952 Reunion
We had a great time at our class reunion on September 22, 2007!
Yes, it’s true—the Class of 1952 celebrated 55 years since our “Bethel days” during the Homecoming 2007 weekend. A complimentary organ concert and luncheon was a highlight at our reunion festivities on Saturday, September 22.
Most of us were freshmen in 1948, a year remembered for:
- The famous (premature) newspaper headline “Dewey Defeats Truman.”
- The first telecast of a professional football game.
- New products such as Dial soap (first deodorant soap), V-8 cocktail vegetable juice, Polaroid Land cameras, and Pepsi-Cola in cans.
- The McDonald brothers opening a restaurant in San Bernardino, CA with “Food served Fast: Burgers, 15 cents, milkshakes 20 cents.”
- Popular songs such as “On a Slow Boat to China,” “Buttons and Bows,” and “Now is the Hour."
We gathered together to celebrate accomplishments and God’s blessings over the years.
