The Scandinavian Bakery at Bethel University

Gary Arvidson
Gary Arvidson's introduction to Scandinavian baking came from his mother and grandmother’s holiday baking of traditional Julekake and other Scandinavian treats. After his graduation from Emerson College in 1971, Gary moved to Minnesota and began working at the Scandia Bake Shop, which he eventually purchased in 1993. After 20 years of service at the South Minneapolis bakery, Gary and his world famous treats have found a new home in the Scandinavian Bakery at Bethel University. Gary is thrilled to have the opportunity to carry on the “tradition true to taste.”
