The season finale features German music from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, including the rarely performed Piano Concerto in D Minor by C.P.E. Bach, performed by the SPCO’s newest artistic partner, Christian Zacharias. Zacharias will then take over as conductor as he directs Schumann’s Spring Symphony, a joyous, celebratory piece the composer wrote during a feverish burst of creativity after marrying composer and pianist Clara Wieck. It will be a truly festive way to end the SPCO’s 2009-10 season!
C.P.E. Bach: Symphony in E-flat
Zimmermann: Rhenish Carnival Dances for 13 Winds
C.P.E. Bach: Piano Concerto in D Minor
