Curtiss DeYoung, professor of reconciliation studies and special assistant to the president for reconciliation and community partnerships at Bethel University, was given the Peacemaker of the Year Award by the Church of God Peace Fellowship during the North American Convention of the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana.

Dr. James Lewis, seminary professor at the Anderson School of Theology and co-chair of the Peace Fellowship, presented the award. “We know of few other people like him on the world scene today who embody what it truly means to be an authentic ‘artisan of reconciliation,’” said Lewis. “Curtiss has blessed the Church globally with both his penetrating writings and his creatively sensitive interventions in promoting peace in all kinds of contexts. In all of his writings, one can never complete a book without sensing that Curtiss has been an ardent listener and learner from a diversity of voices around this world.”

DeYoung is an ordained minister in the Church of God. He is the author and co-author of several books including Living Faith: How Faith Inspires Social Justice, United by Faith, and Beyond Rhetoric.
