More than 150 Bethel University students, staff, and alumni participated in Community Outreach Day on a recent Saturday in March. They served at numerous sites around the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Some of the tasks included:

• Visiting seniors and helping them with chores
• Painting the dining center at the Salvation Army
• Purchasing, preparing, and serving food to 250 homeless men at Catholic Charities Secure Waiting
• Cleaning the clothing boutique at Naomi House, a home for women in transition
  
• Helping those with disabilities enjoy the Party Night at North Heights Lutheran church
• Making cards with residents at Exodus House, a home for men and women in transition
• Working at construction sites for Habitat for Humanity and Urban Homeworks

"It was a very successful day overall," says Donna Johnson, pastor of outreach ministry.
