Bethel University will begin offering classes for adults at a new site in Bloomington this fall. The university has leased an additional classroom site for the Graduate School and the College of Adult & Professional Studies at Normandale Place, located at 8201 Norman Center Drive in Bloomington.
The new location is the next step in the expansion of Bethel University’s adult programs, which continue to attract students even during the current economic challenges. Bethel’s adult programs started in 1989 with one adult degree completion program. Today, the College of Adult & Professional Studies and Graduate School serve approximately 2,000 learners in seven undergraduate majors and 11 graduate programs, along with offering numerous licenses and certificates.
“We have seen a desire among adult students to use this economic downturn to better prepare themselves for the next steps in their current careers or for new careers altogether. They want to improve their experience and resumes in order to weather this and other economic downturns and make them invaluable to employers,” explains Michael Price, director of admissions for the College of Adult & Professional Studies and Graduate School.
While Bethel has offered classes in various locations in the southwest metro area for several years, this new 11,000 square foot facility will allow Bethel to serve better adult learners in the area by having a central facility with seven classrooms and office space, which will provide an optimal learning environment.
“Offered within a framework of Christian values, our first-rate academic programs offer a unique educational option to adults in the Twin Cities area. This new site will allow us to better serve learners in the southwest metro,” explains Bethel President Jay Barnes.
The following programs will be offered at the Bloomington location:
-MBA
-M.A.in Organizational Leadership
-M.A. in Adult Development and Aging
-B.A. in Organizational Leadership
The site, near the intersection of 494 and 100, offers amenities such as ample free parking and close proximity to major freeways and the airport as well as a variety of restaurants and several large hotels to accommodate learners who live in greater Minnesota or beyond.
