Do you have the confidence you need to work with your students who have autism spectrum disorders? The new Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) is a 1-year, 10-credit program designed for education professionals.
Prepare to serve students with ASD. Understand and serve them more effectively. Receive an in-depth look at these disorders and learn to observe, assess, and identify the unique educational needs of this population. Prepare to provide appropriate interventions and strategies for students’ needs in the areas of communication, sensory, and social interactions. Prepare to consult and collaborate with others who are part of a child’s special education team.
The certificate program begins in February 2010.
“There are other autism certificate programs around the state, but none has a Christian perspective,” says Katie Raisanen, program director. The program at Bethel will provide that unique viewpoint while offering you the tools to reach your students effectively.
