Historic Significance:
In 1905, a committee of Swedish Baptists in
Kansas established the Sunset Home Society for the purpose of establishing
a ministry to the elderly. The actual operation began in 1907 in a large residence
purchased for the purpose in Clay Center, KS. In 1911, the home was moved to
Concordia. In 1921, an invitation was extended to the Kansas Baptist State
Convention to share the ministry of the home with the Swedish Baptists.
