The History Center houses documents significant to Swedish Baptist
institutional, cultural and immigration history, the Baptist General
Conference, and Bethel University. The collection includes:
- Institutional records of Bethel University
- Swedish Baptist Conference Minutes (1856-1934)
- Baptist General Conference Annual Reports
- BGC publications (e.g. The Standard and its precursors)
- BGC church and district records
- BGC home and foreign mission records
- Swedish Bible and hymnal collection
- Biographical files on over 2,300 conference pastors and laypersons
- Photographs
- In addition, the History Center contains a variety
of recurring materials: minutes and reports of meetings, programs
and proceedings of conferences and conventions, financial records,
correspondence, memoranda, newsletters, missions reports, and
news clippings.
