Semester Payment Plan Details

The semester payment plan option is for ALL charges on your student account, including but not limited to tuition, room, board, fees, Campus Store charges, and parking permits. Enrollment in the semester payment plan is elected on a semester-by-semester basis, and payments are spread out over the semester. The enrollment fee is $20/semester. The monthly payment amount is recalculated each time there is a new transaction posted to the account. Thus your payment amount will vary each month. You will be notified by email each time your payment amount changes.

Fall 2009 Enrollment Deadlines

Enrolling in the Semester Payment Plan by August 15 gives you a 5 month payment plan with monthly payments due by the 15th of each month for August, September, October, November, and December. If you enroll in the payment plan after August 15, you will be in a 4 month payment plan with monthly payments due by the 15th of September, October, November, and December. The deadline for enrolling in the payment plan for the Fall 2009 term is September 15.

Spring 2010 Enrollment Deadlines

Enrolling in the Semester Payment Plan by January 15 gives you a 5 month payment plan with monthly payments due by the 15th of each month for January, February, March, April, and May. If you enroll in the payment plan after January 15, you will be in a 4 month payment plan with monthly payments due by the 15th of February, March, April, and May. The deadline for enrolling in the payment plan for the Spring 2010 term is February 15.

Recalculating Monthly Payments

Monthly payments will be recalculated each month and will be determined by the current balance owed divided by the number of payments left on the payment plan. Therefore, monthly payment amounts may differ each month.

Giving Parents, Spouses, or Others Account Access

Students can authorize parents, spouses, or others to access their account. To authorize other users, students should go through Blink (Student Services tab > My Bethel Account channel > select term > click Online Payment at bottom of page > click Authorized Users)  and follow the instructions. After a user has been authorized, that person will receive an email with further instructions.

Payment Due Dates

Payments are due on the 15th of every month. Any activity applied to an account after the 5th of each month will not be reflected in the current monthly payment and will be included in the following month.

Posting Times

Payments made by e-check or credit card will post within 1 business day.

Finance Charges

There are no additional finance or interest charges for students participating in the semester payment plan.

Triple-Room Discount and Private Music Lesson Credits

Students who qualify for a triple room discount and free or reduced-cost private music lessons will see those discounts credited on their accounts later in the semester.

Loans and Financial Aid

Loans and financial aid authorized and recorded by the Office of Financial Aid will be considered when calculating monthly payments.

Outside Scholarships

Outside scholarships will be considered as a payment on your account when received.

Fees

Late Monthly Payment Fee: $25 per month

Non-Sufficient Funds Fee: $20 fee per item; late fees may apply

Statements

Students will continue to receive a monthly itemized statement of activity. The balance on this statement is not your monthly payment amount. Students will receive an email with a new monthly payment amount every time there is a change to their accounts. Students may also go online at any time to view their current installment schedule. For your monthly payment amounts, check Blink (Student Services > My Business Account > Online Payments).

Previous Semester Balances

When there is a previous semester balance owing in the amount of $500 or less, that balance will automatically be included in your new payment plan. However, you will not be permitted to enroll in a new semester payment plan if your previous semester’s balance is greater than $500.
