The Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs offers summer
internships and programs in MN & abroad. These internships are
academic in nature and focus on social change.

This Web site gives you a sample of the listing that can be found in the book The Back Door Guide to Short Term Job Adventures
available in the Career Services Office. It offers thousands of
detailed listings for unique and alternative paid internships, seasonal
work, volunteer opportunities, overseas jobs, and other short-term work
experiences.
Educational Housing Services (EHS)
New York City - Site includes a number of furnished, safe and
affordable residences for students. There is also a link for a roommate
referral program in NYC.
HomeAway
HomeAway, the largest, most complete site for vacation rentals listings and information, is looking for interns to do Travel Writing that will be published on this high traffic site.

A clearinghouse of internships sorted by category. This organization
has an extensive application process and it is recommended that you
start the process early.

British Council
Government agency that helps with Internship placement in the United
Kingdom for American students. Offers lists and descriptions of
positions with all contact information necessary to apply.
Going Global: Contains information on how to locate international internships and advice for work permits, living expenses, etc for a variety of locations
Idealist
20,000 nonprofit and community organizations in 150 countries, where
you can search placements by name, location, or mission. These
internships tend to be oriented towards activism & social change.

A combination of social network and jobsite which offers Young Professionals and Students the chance to browse through 1000+ challenging international job and internship offers from prestigious employers. A professional profile can be created in order to be found by international recruiters and for networking with peers from around the globe.

unpaid internships with nonprofit human service organizations

National Mental Health Association Located in Virgina, this organization has a variety of different types of internships.

Retailology.com
Click on Search all College Recruitment Opportunities.Then at the
bottom of the page, click on Internships. Includes mainly summer
opportunities in various locations throughout the US. You can search
and apply online. The site is hosted by Federated Merchandising Group,
the largest operator of fine department stores in the United States.

Magazine Publishers of America (MPA)
The MPA is the industry association for consumer magazines. The
internship listing are continually being updated and enhanced. The MPA
represents more than 200 US-based publishing companies with more then
1,200 titles; more than 75 international companies; and more than 90
associate members providing services to the industry.
Women's Press Twin-cities based organization that connects women around the state. It has internships in publishing and management.

Student Conservation Association
SCA offers 3-to-12 month, expense-paid internship opportunities in all 50 states, in more than 50 professional fields with the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, and state and local agencies, among others.
