HECUA - The Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs offers summer internships and programs in MN & abroad. These internships are academic in nature and focus on social change.

INTERNpost - There are internships for all majors, from a variety of employers and organizations within the Twin Cities area & greater Minnesota.

State of Minnesota - This site links to a database of all the government-related jobs in MN.

The Workshop@Hamline - Lists over 100 internships that are currently available within the Twin Cities area.

The Back Door Guide to Short Term Job Adventures - This Web site gives you a sample of the listing that can be found in the book The Back Door Guide to Short Term Job Adventures available in the Career Services Office. It offers thousands of detailed listings for unique and alternative paid internships, seasonal work, volunteer opportunities, overseas jobs, and other short-term work experiences.

Educational Housing Services (EHS) - New York City - Site includes a number of furnished, safe and affordable residences for students. There is also a link for a roommate referral program in NYC.

HomeAway - HomeAway, the largest, most complete site for vacation rentals listings and information, is looking for interns to do Travel Writing that will be published on this high traffic site.

OASIS - Orlando Area Student Internship Society is overwhelmed with requests from top employers searching for high-achieving students willing to accept challenging internships in the Orlando/Central FL area.

Rising Star Internships - A clearinghouse of internships sorted by category. This organization has an extensive application process and it is recommended that you start the process early.

Association of International Development and Exchange (AIDE) - AIDE can help you find an international internship in the following countries: Argentina, Australia, China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru and Spain.  Many fields are represented.

AustraLearn - Want to intern in Australia or New Zealand? This organization helps you find the right internship and gives you the inside scoop on how live/work in Australia.

BUNAC - This organization helps students facilitate working abroad for 4-6 months in England, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

British Council - Government agency that helps with Internship placement in the United Kingdom for American students. Offers lists and descriptions of positions with all contact information necessary to apply.

Idealist - 20,000 nonprofit and community organizations in 150 countries, where you can search placements by name, location, or mission. These internships tend to be oriented towards activism & social change.

iHippo - A combination of social network and jobsite which offers Young Professionals and Students the chance to browse through 1000+ challenging international job and internship offers from prestigious employers. A professional profile can be created in order to be found by international recruiters and for networking with peers from around the globe.

Intern in Asia - Information on how to find and complete an internship in Asia. Operated by MOGPA , this nonprofit organization helps U.S. college students and recent graduates get internships at American and Asian companies in China and Japan.

InterExchange - Internships programs include placement, housing and meals and are available in a wide variety of fields. All placements include a 2 week language school program. Schools are centrally located and feature modern classrooms with half-day classes Monday through Friday.

Federal Government Internships - Internship opportunities within the Federal Government.

Institute for Experiential Learning - The Institute for Experiential Learning (IEL) provides academic internships through three programs: the Capital Experience, the Embassy and Diplomatic Scholars Internship Program, and the Foreign Policy Symposium.

Live, Learn, & Intern in DC - Part of Georgetown University, this program focuses on academic internships in politics, economics, business and political journalism.

Agstar Financial Services - Recruiting for internships typically takes place from October to January each year. Summer interns are usually selected and notified by mid-January. Available internships listed on this website.

farenHEIGHT360 - A merged company of Student Experience and Corporate Interns. Matches candidates with clients and career opportunities.

Retailology.com - Click on Search all College Recruitment Opportunities, then at the bottom of the page, click on Internships. Includes mainly summer opportunities in various locations throughout the US. You can search and apply online. The site is hosted by Federated Merchandising Group, the largest operator of fine department stores in the United States.

Scottrade - This internship program provides students with a "hands-on" learning experience for those interested in pursuing a career in the financial industry

Environmental Science & Recreation

Student Conservation Association - SCA offers 3-to-12 month, expense-paid internship opportunities in all 50 states, in more than 50 professional fields with the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, and state and local agencies, among others.

The National Assembly - Click on Internships & Jobs, then on The Online Directory of Internships in Youth Development. It contains information on paid and unpaid internships with nonprofit human service organizations nationwide.

National Mental Health Association - Located in Virgina, this organization has a variety of different types of internships.

Writing

Coffeehouse Press - Local non-profit publisher with a variety of internships. Recommend applying 6 months prior to when you would like to start.

Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) - The MPA is the industry association for consumer magazines. The internship listing are continually being updated and enhanced. The MPA represents more than 200 US-based publishing companies with more then 1,200 titles; more than 75 international companies; and more than 90 associate members providing services to the industry.

Women's Press - A Twin Cities based organization that connects women around the state. It has internships in publishing and management.
