Associate Pastor, Hope Community Baptist Church, Sterling Heights, Michigan
Job Description:

  • The Associate Pastor will focus on three primary areas of responsibility:

    • Music and  Worship
    • Evangelism and Outreach
    • Ministering to Young Adults (primarily 19 to 35 years old age group)
  • As the Associate Pastor, this individual would participate in church services as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Deacon Board
  • This may include preaching, teaching, the leading of prayer meeting, and leading a small group Bible study, etc.
  • Also, as Associate Pastor, this individual is expected to participate in and represent HCBC at various Great Lakes Association and NAB events
  • Responsibilities :

    • Music and Worship:

      • Coordinator of the Music Ministry for the entire church
      • This includes music, sound, light activities
      • Recruit, train, and assist in developing the musical talents of the congregation
      • Works in conjunction with the Senior Pastor in planning weekly services and special events
    • Evangelism and Outreach:

      • Develop formal ministry goals and strategies focused on evangelism and outreach
      • Develop strategies to help assimilate new members into the church family
    • Ministering to Young Adults:

      • Implement worship formates, activities, and events that are focused on reaching you adults in the 19-35 age group
      • Recruit and train qualified individuals to assist in the church's efforts to minister to young adults

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Bachelor of Arts or equivalent in the area of Biblical Studies
  • Completion or pursuit of a Masters Degree preferred
  • Some formal training and demonstration of proficiency in Music
  • Minimum of two years experience directing and leading worship

Job Description:

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies with a seminary education preferred
  • 3-5 years of large church experience a plus, specifically in the area of Adult Ministries
  • 3-5 years of previous discipleship experience with demonstrated progress
  • Experience in an associate role in a multi-staff church
  • 2-4 years of small group experience

Middle School Youth Minister, Hope Church/ Young Life, Richfield, MN
Job Description:

  • Purpose to help middle school students enter into and/or deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ and his church, developing an outward facing faith, ready to engage their sphere of influence, through a dual appointment with Hope Church and Young Life
  • Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate Hope's midweek and Sunday morning middle school programming :equip and lead a ministry team that shares fully in programmatic ministry serve as a primary (but not exclusive) lead speaker support programmatic ministry themes developed by the Director of Student Ministries and the Student Ministry Team
    • Recruit, equip, and mobilize a volunteer team to do contact outreach at Richfield Middle School
    • Coordinate middle school retreats

    • Coordinate and lead short-term Hope mission trips for middle school students
    • Recruit kids for WyldLife outreach events and planning for WyldLife activities
    • Develop relationships with Hope students through school visits, electronic communication, and hanging out at the church
    • Develop relationships with Hope parents and community parents for prayer, support and guidance
    • Work within the annual budget for Hope Student Ministries and Young Life
    • Attend monthly Hope Church "all staff" meetings

  • Personally committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ
  • Eager and able to  share Christ in a culturally appropriate manner with middle school students
  • Able to invite and equip the people of Hope to serve and lead in ministry
  • Motivated to embrace the multicultural, multiracial context for ministry in Richfield
  • Able to manage the boundaries and overlap in this dual appointment with Young Life

Director/Pastor of Family Ministries, First Baptist Church of Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs, CO
Description of Ministry Areas:

  • This is a full-time position requiring 40-50 hours per week. Pay and benefits to be determined commensurate with education and experience. There is a probationary period of six month for this position
  • Be accountable to the Executive Board under the immediate supervision of the Senior Pastor
  • Serve as staff representative to the Christian Education Team
  • Work with the church staff and pastoral leadership to enhance Family Ministries and the broader ministry of First Baptist Church in the congregation and the wider community
  • Attain this goal by being involved in and accountable for the following areas of ministry

    • Outreach to families
    • Leadership responsibility for high school and junior high youth groups
    • Outreach to post-high youth and young adults
    • Special programs and activities including retreats, outings, camps, and worship experiences for children, youth and young adults
    • Assist the Christian Education Team with teacher recruitment and training for children, youth and young adults
  • Other Ministry Areas:

    • Assisting teachers with curriculum decisions in conjunction with the Christian Education team
    • The Director of Family Ministries is expected to be part of a team relationship with the ministerial and support staff of First Baptist Church. Staff meetings, staff retreats, and program planning and evaluation are essential parts of this relationship
    • If ordained, additional pastoral duties would be assigned (i.e., visitation, weddings, funerals, occasional preaching, teaching opportunities), and this individual would be called as Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church

Qualifications:

  • Personal Commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Familiarity and agreement with polity and philosophy of the American Baptist Churches USA. First Baptist Church membership will be considered appropriate
  • Ability to evaluate the needs of families, children, youth and young adults and foster a learning environment to address those needs
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and two years experience working with families, children, youth or young adults in a church setting; a Master's Degree with ordination or working toward ordination is preferred
  • The Director/Pastor of Family Ministries shall have a vision for personal growth as it relates to families, children, youth and young adults, including emotional, spiritual, and physical needs.   • To provide leadership in implementing a Community Based Model of TreeHouse Community Development and Programming for two or more TreeHouse locations
