Self-assessment is an essential component of career development and planning. We use several self-assessment tools and inventories to help you integrate career options with a better understanding of yourself.

Inventories
While no inventory will tell you the "one perfect career" that is right for you, they can give you options to explore.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
This 93 question inventory looks at your personality preferences and how they relate to possible strengths, areas that may need improvement, and careers. The inventory normally takes 35-45 minutes to finish and costs $14.00. To take this inventory, stop by or call  Career Development and Calling and make an appointment. After the appointment, you will be given a password so you can take the inventory online at your leisure. After you take the inventory, you will return for a one hour appointment with the counselor who will interpret and review your results.

Strong Interest Inventory
The Strong Interest Inventory can help you to identify general areas of interest as well as specific activities and occupations that you may want to explore further. The Strong has 291 questions, takes approximately 45-60 minutes to finish, and costs $12.00. To take this inventory, stop by Career Services and make an appointment. After the appointment, you will be given a password so you can take the inventory online at your leisure. After you take the inventory, you will return for a one hour appointment with the counselor who will interpret and review your results
