Give to Bethel University

The Schmulands love the Grand Marais area of northern Minnesota. They also love the Lord and know Bethel University prepares young people for kingdom work. The couple has combined these passions to give in a unique way: creating scholarships of $6,000 for Bethel students from the Cook County, Minn. area who demonstrate spiritual leadership, academic ability, and financial need. Renewable each year, the gifts have helped five students to attend Bethel so far.
We’re not doing this to glorify our name, but to obey God and glorify Him,” explains Mary. “This is a way to leave something behind, a way of influencing the next generation.”
“The question we get asked in Cook County is ‘Do you have a cabin up here?’” Carl relates. “I say ‘No…this is our cabin. This is how we’re investing in Cook County. Not in real estate, but in the kids.”
