Give to Bethel University
Colleagues:
It’s been quite a year! The new George K. Brushaber Commons was completed and now provides us more opportunities for growth and relationship building. I was officially inaugurated as President of Bethel University, and we recently welcomed David Clark as Bethel’s new provost. We also continue to weather a tough economy, despite which, our enrollment remains strong. In fact, we begin the 2009-2010 school year with nearly 900 new students in the College of Arts & Sciences alone. Indeed, something to celebrate! Nevertheless, we have had to make challenging, but fiscally responsible, decisions. One of these was implementing both a hiring and salary freeze.
And even as some things have been halted or put on hold, Bethel’s mission has continued full-speed ahead, thanks to your dedication. As faculty and staff members, you have steadfastly worked to transform lives both inside and outside the classroom. Adventurous Christ-followers—and the people they will touch—are multiplying, and this could not happen without you.
I know that you give to Bethel each and every day with your time, talents, and passion. And I thank you. I’d also like to ask you to prayerfully consider—even in this challenging environment—giving financially to Bethel. As employees, one way you can make financial contributions to Bethel is through payroll deduction.
Through the payroll deduction program, an amount determined by you can be deducted from your paycheck each month and given to Bethel—ultimately to Bethel’s mission. Even the smallest amounts add up.
Your loyalty and commitment to Bethel, shown in so many ways, is deeply appreciated and making a big difference both to me and to Bethel. I look forward to watching with you what God will do at Bethel in the year ahead!
In gratitude,
Jay Barnes
President
