Give to Bethel University

On June 4, more than 25 Bethel alumni, parents and friends of Bethel gathered at the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics (GIAL) in Dallas. Hosted by GIAL’s dean Larry Bradshaw ’63 and his wife Glenda, the event featured Bethel President Jay Barnes and Ron Tschetter ’63, former U.S. Peace Corps director.
Barnes shared his vision for Bethel; despite challenging economic times, it remains focused on its mission to develop adventurous Christ-followers. Tschetter spoke of the relationships built between Peace Corps volunteers and natives of the country they work in.
Those gathered also received a special viewing of a rare, hand-copied 1863 Torah, given to GIAL to enhance biblical understandings of the linguistics scholars.
“The evening provided an opportunity for the Bethel community in the Dallas area to meet President Barnes, get acquainted with others with Bethel ties, and to learn more about Bethel’s continued commitment to delivering an excellent, Christ-centered education,” says John Neibergall, Bethel development officer. “It was a wonderful way for those who attended to reconnect with Bethel.”
