Give to Bethel University
Memorial and tribute gifts are a legacy, a lasting way to show esteem, admiration, and appreciation. A death of a family member or a close friend may prompt a desire to keep their influence alive, or a gift may reflect a wish to show gratitude for a beloved professor or a person who offered encouragement or deeply influenced the donor's life. For example, plans call for rooms in the new University Commons to be named in honor of specific individuals or groups.
Memorials and tributes can be designated as Annual Fund gifts, contributions to establish new scholarships or build on existing scholarships, or directed to special projects. Helping Bethel students is a powerful way to make a positive impact on the future.
In May 2007, Bethel University lost a longtime friend when Gunnar Kronholm
passed away at the age of 94. He was a man who loved his Lord, his family,
and Bethel.
After a successful career in banking, Gunnar helped establish Bethel’s business degree program and the Bethel Foundation. Over the years, he served in several key interim positions, including as a Bethel regent, a Bethel Foundation governor, and a vital part of the development team.
Retirement wasn't an option: Gunnar worked part time in his office even while battling the cancer that finally claimed his life. He secured his last major contribution for Bethel a mere two weeks before his death.
Friends wishing to honor this faithful follower of Christ and great friend of Bethel may designate gifts for the Gunnar Kronholm Business Scholarship or for the University Commons room that will be named after him. In honor of former banker, Bethel administrator, and adjunct faculty member
Gunnar Kronholm, whose life exemplified faithful Christian service and
ethical business practice, this scholarship is awarded to needy students
majoring in business in the College of Arts & Sciences.
