Give to Bethel
Bethel President George Brushaber emphasizes the value of the athletic experience as part of the training ground of a Christian liberal arts education. He has led Bethel in the development of athletic facilities, and his belief in the value of athletics provides a foundation for our efforts.
Hargis
Park Bethel proudly debuted Hargis Park in the spring of 2000. The Bethel Royals baseball team inaugurated the park with an appearance in the first-ever MIAC playoffs. Hargis Park is among the best in the league and sports the latest playing surface technology in a picturesque, wooded setting. The major donation for this park was given by Bill Hargis, former president and CEO of Good Neighbor Health Care Centers and mayor of Woodbury, Minn., since 1993. Bill has also been a long-time assistant baseball coach at Bethel.
Ona
Orth Athletic Complex The Ona Orth Athletic Complex, a 10-acre site across from Bethel's main
entrance along Old Snelling Avenue in Arden Hills, houses two soccer practice
fields, a varsity softball field, and six varsity tennis courts. The complex
was named after Ms. Ona Orth, a Shoreview resident who was a significant
donor to the $1.8 million facility.
Royal
Stadium This state-of-the-art facility now includes a full concession area, restrooms, and two storage areas. The game facility has also been enclosed with fencing on the visitor side, and a new visitor seating section has been added. Gifts from the Target Corporation and Ryan Companies have provided funds for a new scoreboard and a landscaped entrance that includes a donor recognition area. This game and practice complex is the premier facility in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and is one of the best small-college stadiums in the upper Midwest.
