Job Summary
Bethel University (College of Arts & Sciences) invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment in the Department of Human Kinetics and Applied Health Science. This is a shared position, with approximately 62% of the responsibilities in academics, and 38% of the responsibilities in athletics. Position open fall 2013.
Responsibilities
Teach the equivalent of a full-time (seven-course) load per academic year, with additional summer responsibilities. Primary clinical instruction of athletic training students with didactic teaching responsibilities; may include courses such as First Aid, Therapeutic Interventions, and Senior Seminar in Athletic Training. Team sport coverage as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. General faculty responsibilities will include student advising, and department and committee assignments.
Required Skills
Candidate must be able to complete instructor requirements for CPR/AED for professional rescuer.
Required Experience
Expertise in clinical supervision of athletic training students and rehabilitation techniques are important for fulfilling the responsibilities of this position. Previous experience as an athletic trainer educator in a CAATE-accredited program is an asset.
Required Education
A master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field is required; doctorate degree preferred. BOC Athletic Trainer Certification for at least one year is required. This position also requires current Athletic Trainer Registration in Minnesota or eligibility.
