Job Summary

Tenure-track faculty position at the appropriate professor level in the new Master of Science in Physician Assistant program. This is a full-time faculty position in the Graduate School assisting in providing leadership for the Physician Assistant program.

This is a new position to join the current full-time faculty.


Responsibilities include: Collaborating with the Director of Clinical Education, Program Director & Faculty, the Medical Director, the administrative assistant, and physician offices, as well as hospital and clinic clinicians within the health care community. Teach at least 50% of load in the graduate PA courses as assigned. Travel is required.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • participation in teaching in areas of expertise and service within the department
  • provide instructional leadership within the MSPA program and serve as an advisor to cohorts as assigned
  • assist in the ongoing training and support for Bethel University PA preceptors
  • actively participate in department and university committees
  • serve as a subject matter specialist for the MSPA program, providing support and encouragement for program faculty

Required Education

The minimum requirements for this position are a Master’s degree in a related health field (doctorate preferred), NCCPA-certified as a Physician Assistant, and appropriate clinical experience, experience with precepting students, or experience in coordination of clinical education activities.  As a physician assistant, he or she must hold board current certification and hold, or be eligible for, current Minnesota licensure.

Additional Information

Three references are required. After review of application, resume, and references, potential candidates will be invited for interview with program director and academic dean.

The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Provisional to the Bethel University-MN Physician Assistant Program. Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status. The status indicates that the plans and resource allocation for the program appear to demonstrate the program's ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards, if fully implemented as planned. Accreditation-Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. It is limited to no more than three years from the matriculation of the first class.  The next accreditation visit is scheduled for November 2014.
