Job Summary

To provide strategic vision and oversight of Bethel’s creative content including over 45,000 pages of web content and print marketing materials


  • Provides strategic planning, prioritization, and oversight of Bethel’s content including web and print materials
  • Manages a team of content producers in accordance with Bethel’s content strategy and priorities
  • Develops and edits content that supports Bethel’s content strategy
  • Provides project management and expertise for high priority content projects
  • Manages the content publishing workflow and CMS
  • Partners with web developers and designer on projects

Required Skills

  • Ability to manage a team of writers and editors
  • Ability to lead meetings and manage large projects
  • Ability to produce engaging content for both print and web
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong understanding of web publishing systems, information architecture, and search engine optimization
  • Ability to assess others’ work and provide guidance for improvement
  • Ability to review, approve, and enforce new strategies for producing content
  • Ability to manage publishing processes involving multiple authors, groups, and platforms
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

Required Experience

  • 7+ years experience with writing, web publishing, and complex project management
  • Experience with leading teams preferred

Required Education

BA/BS in Communication Studies, English, journalism, or related degree

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work in a sitting position at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Must be comfortable working on a highly collaborative team
  • Possible evening and weekend support
