Job Summary

Bethel University's Graduate School has an opening for an adjunct instructor to teach a graduate-level course called Methods of Teaching Social Studies 5-12.


Methods of Teaching Social Studies 5-12 will be taught in November/December (actual 2014 class dates and times: 11/11, 5:30-9:30; 11/15, 8:30-2:30; 11/18, 5:30-9:30; 11/25, 5:30-9:30; 12/2, 5:30-9:30; and 12/9, 5:30-9:30).

This class will meet in Arden Hills, Minnesota.

Required Skills

Ability and passion for integrating digital technologies into a social studies classroom and teaching graduate students how to do the same.

Technology skills required: Moodle or an equivalent learning management system; Google apps, specifically Gmail and Drive; Microsoft Office; must have access to a computer with Internet access.

Required Experience

At least 5 years teaching experience in a Minnesota social studies classroom (middle school, high school, or both), and experience teaching adults according to best practices in adult learning.

Required Education

Master’s degree in Teaching, Education, or a related field, and a current 5-12 Minnesota teaching license in social studies.
