Event Description
You’re invited to a day just for students and their grandparents to connect on campus.
Schedule
9-10 a.m. Check-in
10:15-11 a.m. Chapel
Worship together with your grandchild as you sing songs of worship and hear a message from Rev. Ralph Gustafson, Vice President for Constituent Relations. Ralph graduated from Bethel College ('74) and Bethel Seminary ('78). His wife, Lyn, and three of their children are also Bethel alumni. Ralph and Lyn look forward to seeing their grandchildren attend Bethel someday and continue their family's Royal legacy.
11 a.m. - noon Coffee/Punch Reception
Spend some time with your grandchild, Bethel administrators, and other guests as you enjoy refreshments. Have your photo taken with your grandchild as a reminder of this special day together.
Noon-1:30 p.m. Lunch with the President
Enjoy fellowship, lunch, and a short program with Bethel University President Jay Barnes. We encourage your grandchild to attend the lunch with you, if their class schedule allows. RSVP is required.
2-2:45 p.m. Afternoon Session
Hear from Dick Varberg ('55, S'58), Bethel grandparent and Bethel Seminary 2012 Alumnus of the Year. Dick and his wife, Elenor, served for more than 40 years as missionaries in the Philippines and had a hand in planting more than 100 churches. Dick will share stories from his experiences in the mission field, and will reflect on the significant role that Bethel has played in the lives of his family members.
3 p.m. Campus Tours
Join student hosts from Bethel's Office of Admissions for an indoor walking tour of campus.
The Office of Student Life has extended visiting hours for residence halls from noon to midnight. Accompany your grandchild and experience the community in which they live.
