Class of 1962 Reunion
The Bethel College Class of 1962 celebrated its 50th reunion on Saturday, October 6, 2012. On a night of many reunions, the '62 alumni were the featured guests at the reunion dinner in the Roberston Gym, and later in the Olson Boardroom in the new Brushaber Commons.
The excitement of the evening was compounded by the fact that the Royals had just won a last-second football victory over Concordia of Moorhead to extend their undefeated season!
Some 50 class members, spouses and invited guests enjoyed an evening of memories, personal reflection and music. Former Athletics Directors Gene Glader, and Marilyn Starr were invited guests and both reflected on their experiences at Bethel and since leaving.
A major topic of discussion was of course the vast differences in the old and new campus. The nostalgia of the old and wonder of the new were central themes of the evening.
Larry Petersen served as emcee for the event. He coordinated the get-reacquainted activity, led a hymn sing with Sue (Buckbee) Valentine at the piano, and facilitated a very meaningful sharing time. In addition to health issues, family dynamics and travel, certainly a central theme in the sharing was God's faithfulness through the years. Tuffy and Jill Bryant also sang.
On behalf of the Class of ’62 reunion team – Larry Petersen, Sue (Buckbee) Valentine, and Tuffy Bryant – Thank you to all who attended the reunion! It was truly a time to Revitalize.
