Class of 1987 Reunion

Revitalize was the theme for Bethel’s Homecoming this year, and the Class of 1987 reunion was an opportunity to do just that. It was an absolute blessing to return to Bethel's beautiful campus and reconnect with others who had such a memorable imprint on our lives.

The football game provided time to visit with former classmates and talk about the good old days, while also getting current on what is happening in each other’s lives. The last few moments of the game were nothing short of spectacular!

On Saturday evening, we joined with other reunion classes to enjoy a dinner together in the Robertson Center Gym, where we heard from President Jay Barnes and 2012 Alumnus of the Year, Paul Healy ’77. The food was very good, and the company was even better!

As we walked from the gym to our Class of 1987 Reunion party in the Brushaber Commons, it was fun to see some familiar rooms and buildings as well as some of the new and improved spaces on campus.

At our class party, Rusty Bland and Alicia (Scott) Graf led the group in some great mixer games. Then Kathleen Nelson ’86, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, brought us up to date on some of the changes at Bethel.

Later in the party we formed small groups of 5-7 people and shared what was happening in our lives; then we prayed as a large group. This was a meaningful and powerful time to witness the faithfulness of Christ in the lives of fellow classmates. So much has changed during the past 25 years including Bethel, ourselves, friends and family.

God has remained constant, loving and faithful to the class of 1987. May you be Revitalized in all of your future endeavors!
