- Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program (Provides awards of up to $5,000 for U.S. undergraduate students to pursue undergraduate opportunities abroad of up to one year. To be eligible, students must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application.)
- Freeman Scholarship (Designed to support American undergraduates who are planning on studying overseas in East or Southeast Asia. Awards are available for up to $5,000.)

- The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) has updated for tax year 2006 its "Parent and Student Guide to Federal Tax Benefits for Tuition and Fees." The NASFAA publishes this guide to provide students, parents, counselors, and others with general guidance on federal education-related tax benefits. The guide includes information about the Hope Scholarship and Lifetime Learning tax credits, provides guidance on understanding the tuition and fees tax deduction, and gives links to IRS publications that address these topics.
