Bethel Seminary

Grants

Grants are a type of gift aid (i.e., they do not need to be repaid). Most grants are given on the basis of financial need. Students who wish to be considered for grants must complete the Bethel University Financial Aid Application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students must be enrolled for at least eight (8) credits per quarter to be eligible for institutional grants.

Bethel Seminary Grants*

Bethel University Graduate Grant

Amount: 100% tuition for the third quarter of enrollment
Criteria: Graduates from Bethel University College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Adult & Professional Studies beginning full time the quarter immediately following graduation. Third quarter tuition is free after successfully completing two quarters at full-time status.
Notes: Non-renewable. Apply using both the Bethel University Financial Aid Application and the Application for Free Tuition.
Availability: All campuses. All master's-level programs. Recipients of the free quarter are not eligible for other institutional grants and scholarships during the free quarter.

BGC Grant

Amount: $150/quarter; $600/year
Criteria: Students who are members of BGC churches and enrolled for 8+ credits per quarter.
Notes: Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application. Awarded $150 per quarter (fall, winter, spring, and summer).
Availability: All campuses. All master's-level programs.

Campus Crusade Grant

Amount: 15% tuition
Criteria: Currently employed full time by Campus Crusade.
Notes: Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application.
Availability: All campuses. All master's-level programs. Students receiving this grant are not eligible for other institutional aid.

College Avenue Baptist Interns Grant

Amount: 100% tuition
Criteria: Must be employed as an intern at College Avenue Baptist Church.
Notes: Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application.
Availability: San Diego Campus only. Recipients of this grant are not eligible for other institutional grants or scholarships.

Flood Interns Grant

Amount: 15% tuition
Criteria: Must be employed by Flood Church.
Notes: Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application.
Availability: San Diego Campus only. Recipients of this grant are not eligible for other institutional grants or scholarships.

International Student Grant

Amount: Varies
Criteria: Seminary Office of Admissions and Recruitment selects recipients.
Notes: Renewable.  Please contact Seminary Office of Admissions and Recruitment for appropriate applications.
Availability: St. Paul campus. Traditional programs.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship Grant

Amount: 20% to 30% tuition
Criteria: Must be employed by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
Notes: Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application.
Availability: San Diego campus only. Recipients of this grant are not eligible for other institutional grants or scholarships.

Metro D.C. Center Staff Grant

Amount: 50% tuition
Criteria: Must be employed by First Baptist Church of Glenarden.
Notes: Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application.
Availability: Metro D.C. Center only.  All master's-level programs.

Multicultural Grant

Amount: $400 per quarter
Criteria: Need-based. Students taking 8+ credits per quarter.
Notes: Renewable. Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application and the FAFSA.
Availability: St. Paul campus.  All master's-level programs.

New York Center Staff Grant

Amount: 50% tuition
Criteria: Must be employed by First Baptist Church of Flushing, N.Y.
Notes: Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application.
Availability: New York Center only.  All master's-level programs.

Philadelphia Center Staff Grant

Amount: 50% tuition
Criteria: Must be employed by Chelten Baptist Church.
Notes: Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application.
Availability: Philadelphia Center only.  All master's-level programs.

Seminary Grant

Amount:  $200-$500/quarter; $800-$2000/year
Criteria: Need-based. Students taking 8+ credits per quarter.
Notes: Apply using Bethel University Financial Aid Application and the FAFSA.
Availability: All campuses. All master's-level programs.

Spouse Tuition Grant

Amount: 50% tuition discount on one course/quarter
Criteria: Spouse of student enrolled full time (8+ credits per quarter) in degree program. Recipients are not eligible for other institutionally funded grants or scholarships.
Notes: Need-based. Apply using Bethel University Financial Aid Application and the FAFSA.
Availability: All campuses. All master's-level programs.

Travel Grant

Amount:  varies, up to $800/year
Criteria: Need-based. Full-time InMinistry students from the U.S. living 75 or more miles from campus.  Grant is credited to student account during intensive quarters with enrollment of 8 credits.  Amount varies by location.
Notes: Need-based. Apply using Bethel University Financial Aid Application and the FAFSA.
Availability: St. Paul campus and San Diego campus.  InMinistry students only.

Young Life Grant

Amount: 15% of tuition
Criteria: Currently employed full time by Young Life.
Notes: Apply using the Bethel University Financial Aid Application.
Availability: St. Paul campus and San Diego campus. All master's-level programs. Students receiving this grant are not eligible for other institutional aid.

*Note: Current InMinistry and SemPM students who began studies prior to June 2006 are not eligible to receive funds from the programs listed above. Students in this category will continue to receive the automatic 15% tuition discount until graduation, provided enrollment continues without interruption.

Minnesota Grants

Minnesota GI Bill Program

Amount:  Full-time students may be eligible to receive up to $1,000 per term and part-time students can receive up to $500 per term.

Availability:  Provides financial assistance to Minnesota veterans and service members who served on or after September 11, 2001.  Must also complete the Minnesota GI Bill Application.
