Exhibition Description:

New York City artist Makoto Fujimura works with a subject matter of biblical themes in mixed media on a two-dimensional surface of canvas as well as different papers in an abstract style. The exhibit will feature 11 of Fujimura's pieces.

Fujimura was born in 1960 in Boston, Mass. He received his B.A. from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania and his M.F.A. and doctorate from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Collections of his work can be found at several museums including the Contemporary Museum of Tokyo, the Billy Graham Center Museum, and the St. Louis Art Museum.
