Bruce W. Anderson

Executive Development and University Relations Officer

Bruce W. Anderson wears many Bethel hats: staff member (executive development and university relations officer), graduate (’74), husband of alum (Debbie Bayle Anderson, ’74), parent of alums (Britta ’01 and Nate ’05), and former member of the Board of Trustees (1998-2004).

In 2005, Bruce accepted then-President George Brushaber’s invitation to lead the development team, bringing with him 27 years of experience in marketing, development, and publishing at Moody Bible Institute.

Bruce also holds 2 master’s degrees in Philosophy of Religion and History, and spent years teaching philosophy as an adjunct instructor at several community colleges in suburban Chicago.

When Bruce Was a Student

His favorite part of being a student at Bethel was “learning alongside many committed professors.” He met his wife at Bethel, and he saw his own children became graduates of his alma mater as well. “Investing in Bethel is one way to give back to a community that transforms lives. Coming back to Bethel is like coming home: regaining my center,” he says.

Guiding Scripture Passage

Proverbs 3:5-6

Favorite Part of His Job

Now, leading a dedicated development team, his favorite part of his job is “having the satisfaction of people finding deep fulfillment in being part of Bethel’s mission.”

A New Hobby

Recently, Bruce has been wearing yet another hat: that of ranch hand on his daughter’s alpaca farm.
