Senior Development Officer Jon Poppe works with donors in the plains and west central United States.

Before Bethel        

Before coming to Bethel just under 2 years ago, Jon worked in sales and business development in the corporate world for 27 years. Jon was looking for a new opportunity and was interested in using his skills in a more meaningful way.

He has several friends who graduated from the university and seminary, including colleague Dan Wiersum, who encouraged him to apply for his current position.

Best Part of His Job

Jon’s cherished part of his job is the people, and he’s motivated by knowing that his work will impact the growth of God’s Kingdom in the near and long-term.

Favorite Bethel Experience      

Jon’s favorite Bethel experiences revolve around the performing arts. “My wife Peggy and I have experienced several great concerts and plays in our short time with Bethel. It’s always great to see how many alumni enjoy coming back to Bethel,” he says.

When He’s Not at Work       

Jon, who is active in his church, enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, and road and mountain biking, as well as racquetball and spending time with his family—especially his 2 daughters and 2 grandkids.
