Mark Pearsey
Senior Development Officer
Mark has been the senior development officer for Bethel University on the west coast, as well as Bethel Seminary San Diego for almost 2 years.
Before coming to Bethel, Mark’s work involved maintaining existing customer relationships, developing new ones, and analyzing and meeting the needs of each customer: experiences that mirror his duties at Bethel.
Why Mark Loves His Job
Mark loves building relationships and working towards a bigger purpose. He says, “I enjoy meeting new people and maintaining relationships with existing acquaintances, as I spend my efforts toward reaching a goal that has eternal value. I work hard, but at the same time, I am driven to pray that He will reward my efforts.”
Favorite Bethel Experience
His favorite Bethel event is San Diego graduation.
“Seeing the students . . . is very exciting because it represents the reason I do my job. It symbolizes that they are prepared to go out into the world in their various capacities to serve the Lord. It’s the reason I enjoy asking people to give, and it’s the reason people are willing to give. They want to prepare men and women to further the Kingdom of God.”
Guiding Scripture Passage
Ephesians: 2:4-5
In His Free Time
When he’s not at work, Mark likes to spend time with his wife of 40 years, Kathy (Epp), and their 6 adult children and 2 grandchildren.
You’ll also find him landscaping, working on construction projects, golfing, and organizing ministry-related construction projects as the director of his church group, Men On A Mission.
