Rick Berggren
Development Officer
Bethel is a family affair for Development Officer Rick Berggren, ’71. His wife, Diane (Lundberg) Berggren ’72, is a grad, former staff member, and National Alumni Board member, and their 2 sons (Dave ’04 and Mark ’09) are alums as well.
Rick, who’s worked at Bethel for 14 years, covers the Twin Cities as well as out-state Minnesota.
Why Rick Enjoys His Work
Rick’s sales and marketing background has translated well to his work at Bethel. Those who know him aren’t surprised to learn that his top 2 strengths, according to StrengthsFinders, are “Woo” and “Positivity.”
“I have always been a people-person who thrives on developing relationships with donors. I am passionate about my work at Bethel. I so appreciate the ‘products’ (the students) who go out to be ‘salt and light’ in a variety of fields,” he says.
Favorite Bethel Experiences
He and Diane host a Bethel prayer team in their home that “has been a joy to be a part of.” He also enjoys football, Festival of Christmas, theater performances, jazz concerts, and chapel.

In His Free Time
When not working, he loves being with his family and playing golf: a passion he applies to his major role in Bethel’s Golf Classic.
