Discussion Board Hangs on "Loading Thread"

The following issue has been reported by several users since our upgrade:

Problem:

On clicking on a link to enter a forum the discussion forum hangs on a message "loading thread".

Then if you click okay you may see an error message that says "Missing callback function or metadata object".

 Solutions:

1. Change from "Tree View" to "List View"   (This is a workaround the problem, but the following 2 and 3 usually solve the problem.)

2. Try reloading the "frame" with the discussion page.  In Firefox (Windows), right click (Mac = control-click) on the page with the "loading thread" notice.  Select "This Frame" and then select "Reload Frame".  In Internet Explorer right click on the page with the "loading thread" notice and select Refresh (Windows).

3. Clear your local cache: 

In Firefox (Windows and Mac) go to Tools  and select "Clear Recent History".  Click "Details" and make certain that "Cache" is checked and then click "Clear Now". In Internet Explorer, go to the "Tools" menu, select internet options, and in the "General" tab, select "Delete" under "Browsing history" and select "Delete files" in the Temporary Internet Files section.
