Creating Templates in Dreamweaver
|
- Templates allow you to have regions that are constant from page
to page like menu links, banners, images, or other design elements.
For example in these pages, I created a template that allows me to
change the Introduction to Dreamweaver logo and the background green-blue
stripe background. I can then change the look of the page by simply
changing the template and applying it to all of the pages in seconds.
(See the diagram below).

- To Create a Template using an existing web page
- Open a page that you want to serve as a template
- Choose File > Save as Template
|
- To Create a New Blank Template
- Choose Window > Templates
- In the Template palette, do one of the following
- Select New Template from the Context menu
- Click the New Template icon in the lower right area of the
template window
- In the Template plaette list, right-click(PC) or Control-click
(Mac) and select New Template from the context menu
- Enter a name for the template
